Fitness Goals
We’re all unique, with our own exercise preferences. Over the years I have tried all sorts of exercise. Gyming, Kung Fu, Muay Tai, Running, Yoga, Pilates, HIIT Training, Skipping, countless challenges, and lots more.
And so, it has been a journey of discovery, seeing what works for my body, and what doesn’t.
When you choose your types of exercise, keep your primary fitness goal front and centre. This is important, as you should choose an exercise that helps you achieve that specific goal. Otherwise, you won’t see progress quick enough and you’ll lose steam.
So, be clear on your main fitness goal. Even if it’s as simple as to ‘lose some weight’ or ‘feel less stressed’. Just be clear on the WHY you are doing it, as it will keep you motivated. And when you feel like giving up, it’s thinking about the WHY that will motivate you to take another step.
My fitness goals were usually around losing weight or toning. But recently, my primary goal changed completely. I was so sick of falling on and off the exercise wagon. Exercising 3 times a week for months and then not exercising for weeks. And I wasn’t seeing the results because of it. And so I decided that my new primary fitness goal was to build a habit of exercising regularly.
To build a habit, you need to exercise regularly, for an extended period of time. And that is why a couple of months ago I decided to work out from home 100% and started a personal #100DaysofDailyExercise challenge.
Working Out at Home
By working out at home in the mornings, you can build the habit quicker. You can workout at the same time and in the same place. You can form a routine a lot easier when you are in control of the elements.
While working out at the gym or a studio and doing set classes each week can also work, there are other variables that come into play. Sometimes work gets in the way and you can’t go to class. Sometimes you just can’t get to an early class in time because you need your sleep. Working out at home allows you to simplify the process, save time and built a solid habit without as many potential disruptions.
Online Workout Videos
The digital world is evolving at a rapid rate. And with it, we have the luxury of getting access to a huge amount of online workout videos. Also, with people travelling more and the age of the ‘digital nomad’, there is a drive to make workout resources available online with cool companies like DoYouYoga popping up.
It’s actually incredible.
And sure, when you do a fitness class at a gym or studio, the teacher motivates you to push through. You can’t exactly just lie there and scroll through Instagram while the rest of the class sweats it out. That would be weird.
But, doing online videos can be just as motivating. You still have a teacher, it’s just virtual.
Online videos also allow you to easily try different workouts to see what works for you. Youtube is especially handy, as you can create playlists, making it easy to access your favourites whenever you like.
And so, without further ado, here is an Ultimate Online Workout Videos List to add to your arsenal next time you want to work it out at home.
Yoga Videos
Yoga is my first love, in terms of exercise. And yoga is not just about zenning out on the mat. There are many different types and styles of yoga. You can meditate, but you can also sweat and burn baby.
If you’re new to the idea of yoga, check out some of the workout videos below and find something that works for you. If any look interesting, just roll out that mat or get out on the grass in the garden, and press play. Try a few until you start finding the kinds of videos that resonate with you most. Then find more of those videos, and as you go, save them to your own Youtube playlist. Keep going, it’s a journey of discovery!

Fitness Challenges
After regularly exercising for an extended period of time, even for as little as 15 minutes a day, you’ll start seeing results. With regular exercise, you’ll start feeling fitter, stronger, tighter, and more toned. And even more importantly, as you feel more comfortable and happy in your body, you’ll feel more confident.
So beyond getting fitter, exercise will have a positive effect on your mind. You will find that exercising in the morning will make you feel stronger. After conquering exercise first thing, you feel like you can conquer the day.
I have found that I need to do at least one month of regular exercise to really start seeing results. That’s why I love fitness challenges so much. Because they keep me on track, with a program. By jumping on a program, you make it even easier for yourself to progress, with videos served up daily. All you need to do is show up.
Below are some fitness challenges I’ve done in the past:
DoYouYoga – Pick one of their many yoga challenges
Blogilates – 30 Day Butt Lift Challenge
Boho Beautiful – 14 Day Ultimate Butt Challenge
Betty Rocker – 30 Day Bodyweight Challenge
What Next?
Finally, it’s time to… get exercising! Commit to some morning time, just for you, before the daily madness starts. Pick one of these workout videos or challenges and press play.
Online videos like in the above list make it so easy to get a little more movement into our days. Just press play on one of the above videos and try it out.
Every day, try another one. Try new things, find the ones you like, and discover others along the way. On Youtube, you can find teachers you like, styles you prefer, and really create your own perfect workout library. Along the way you can build up your Youtube playlists, so you have all the videos you need to keep you moving that body wherever you are. All from the comfort of your own home.
Sweet deal!
I hope this post has inspired you to try out some new exercise videos, and get that body moving a little more.
