9 Breathtaking Yoga Instagram Accounts

There are some Yoga Instagram Accounts out there that simply take your breath away. If you’re a yoga-lover like me, having these posts pop up on your Instagram feed will inspire you to no end. Without further adieu, here are some of the most breathtaking yoga accounts out there!

It may sound contradictory at first, but these breathtaking yoga accounts are great inspiration for beginners. Sure, the ladies below are advanced, but instead of making your journey seem far too long, they can instead inspire you by showing you what is possible. Getting to where they are, beautifully in tune with their bodies, is the inspiration you need.

Most of us already spend far too much time on our smartphones, and far too little time in the ‘real’ world. So this is not to suggest more phone-time. Instead, by carefully selecting who you follow based on your interests, your time spent mindlessly scrolling through your feed while be better spent.

Ania

This yoga account inspired this blog post. I found myself scrolling through all Ania’s posts one day. I was just loving every single post. I liked quite a few but didn’t want to overdo it you know. Be cool.

After browsing her feed I felt inspired. It reminded me of where I have wanted to take my yoga, and it motivated me to get back on track. If you’re a yoga-lover following accounts like these, you’ll get more beautiful inspiration when you least expect it.

I had to include this quote from her website:

What does Yoga mean to me? It is a way to live my life, to feel connected to myself and to the nature, to be one with the universe. Yoga is my teacher and my friend, it´s one of the most important and precious experiences I´ve done in my life. Yoga shows me the path, when I feel lost; gives me lessons, when there are too many questions to answer; gets me centered, when the world outside seems to be wrong and destructing. Yoga is my life philosophy.

Yoga Inspiration

This yoga Instagram account has a great balance of beautiful yoga poses and inspiring quotes. It’s the perfect combination if you’re looking to motivate yourself to get on the mat. One of my favourite quotes posted recently is:

The best part about life? Every morning you have a new opportunity to become a happier version of yourself.

The company behind the account, Alo, is a yoga clothing brand. They also have yoga studios in California, where you can practise with some of the best yogis in the world. If you’re ever in the area, check out their website for all the details, and go try out a class. In the meantime, follow their page for your daily dose of Yoga inspiration!

Sarah Mason Yoga

Sarah is a yogi from sunny Australia. Her account is focused on Ashtanga Yoga & Handstands. One of the special ingredients of this account is her captains. Every beautiful photo is coupled with a truly thoughtful captain. I find myself inspired by her words just as much as her images, making it an all-around great inspiration.

These are a few favourite excerpts:

I think it is beautiful the way people sparkle when they talk about the things they love.

There is a world within – a world of thought and feeling and power, of light and life and beauty and, although invisible, it’s forces are mighty.

You attract what you are ready for. So remember, if someone or something has shown up for you, know, you are ready for it.

I could carry on forever, so go and check out her account and see if it inspires you to be your best self as much as it does me.

'You can tell so much about a person by what they choose to see in you' – I woke up to read this little gem this morning It's such a interesting thought process, we all have within us this power for living a life of greatness, yet the stories we have playing on repeat attract people in our lives who confirm 'our' truth in those stories … We attract what we 'think' we deserve. This is sometimes a hard pill to swallow, as it takes a deep courage to look at ourselves in a situation and understand what we need to do to change and create a better outcome, rather than blaming others for how they 'make' us feel. Until only just a few months ago, the last couple of years, life has been so challenging for me. I encountered many people and situations which truly reflected the negative stories I had been telling myself, without too much detail (saving the novel version for a rainy day) it was as if a mirror reflection was staring me right in the face, and I had no where to hide but to tackle it front on. It was raw, nerving and painful… though it forced me to open my eyes and heart, accept this was me (in this moment) and open to seeking ways to vastly change into becoming who I truly wanted to be and unearthing a deep love for myself from within. By putting myself first, by learning to choose me first, and listening to my inner body when something did not serve me. Things for me are changing, life is brighter than ever, I can see the love and beauty that has always surrounded me in a new light, and new exciting opportunities are opening. Ask yourself the question … What stories do I need to break free from to start welcoming into my life what I truly want and deserve? Wearing @dharmabumsactive ? @reece.mcmillan

Anikoyoga

Aniko is a Russian Vinyasa yoga teacher. Her posts are all in Russian but her photos are gorgeous. She has an intriguing character, and I’ve had some fun translating her captains into Google Translate. Of course, translating this way is not accurate, but I have gotten to know her a little better, and her fun attitude and use of emojis makes her a positive keeper in my books.

She also does yoga retreats in Bali, Greece, Batumi and Goa. Her Bali retreats include “lively vinyasa-flow practice, evening meditations, master classes on detachments and asanas technique, photo sessions on dramatic rocks over the blue ocean, seminars on the philosophy of yoga, pranayama and respiratory physiology, delightful meditations” and lots more! Check out her website and if you don’t speak Russian just use a translator and you’ll get the idea. She goes deep. Her attitiude is great and makes me enjoy her Instagram account even more.

зайдите к @anisimova_nastya ????

Gypset Goddess:

This breathtaking Instagram account belongs to Caitlin Turner. She is from California and blows me away with every photograph. She herself is in top form – fit, flexible and generally glowing. On top of that, each photograph is well taken, in pretty settings with lovely light. Her captains are also uplifting. Overall, an awesome account.

She also collaborated with Alo on a clothing line, “GYPSET GODDESS X ALO” – a collection of bras, tops and leggings. It’s a very cool natural range, you should check it out.

Before you visit her account, here’s one of her captains from a recent post, to inspire your 2018:

My vibe for 2018: GODDESS MODE.
Less makeup, more face jewels. ?
Less saying, more doing. ??
Less surviving, more thriving. ?
Less doubt, more possibilities. ??
Less fear, more freedom. ??
Less WiFi, more connection. ?
We each have the power to be the architect of our own dream lives, so let’s take responsibility, collectively tap into that deep well of power, and make 2018 a year that reminds us how truly beautiful life can be. ??
Comment and tell me, what do you want more of, and less of, in your own life? ?

When I was growing up, my parents had a rule that I had to read a book for an hour everyday. ? . There were times when I resented this rule, but more often than not, I ended up really enjoying that hour of getting lost in the stories and characters. ? . As an adult, I’m really grateful for this experience growing up. I still love reading, and actually still get that hour in most days. ⏱ . I usually read fiction, and I especially love a good spy novel, but my favorite books ever are probably “Jitterbug Perfume” and “Still Life With Woodpecker”, both you Tom Robbins, and “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgeral. Getting lost in the characters and stories still thrills me! ? . Do you have an activity, that you loved as a kid, and still continue to love as an adult? Do you have a book that you know I would love? ? . If the answer to either of these questions is “YES!”, please comment below and share! ???? . ?: @diceyoga // @aloyoga ?? #yoga #books #bookstore

Meliniseri

Melini Jesudason is a Japanese E RYT-500 yoga teacher. She was born in Tokyo and raised in New York, Sydney, and Singapore. She now lives in New York. Her website is great – I love that she shares her so that you can join one of the classes she teaches at studios around New York.

Her photos are captivating, often set in the city of New York. The colour palette of her photos is really well done. She often wears pinks, whites, browns, and sometimes a lovely brighter baby blue. The colours of her clothing blend so well with the city colours around her. There is something unique and special about her account, and worth a follow.

Robin Martin Yoga

Robin Martin a yogi based in Seattle. On her website, you can read more about her journey, but here is a lovely excerpt:

It took a friend two years of urging me to try a yoga class before I finally set foot in a studio. After about six months of practicing yoga, I realized that it had an effect on me that was far greater than physical. It calmed my mind in a way no other form of physical movement had before. My stressful job became manageable.

The above quote is so true. When I am practising yoga regularly, everything changes in a good way. I feel calmer and happier, and most importantly, more in control of my life. Yoga has a powerful way of building the strength inside you to be your best in the face of anything. This may sound ‘deep’, but it really is much more than simply an ‘exercise’ or ‘stretch’. It has the power to transform.

Robyn’s Instagram is breathtaking. Every photo, one after another, is inspiring. It’s so important to keep reminding yourself of why you are doing something. When I look at her photos, I’m reminded of what I want in the near future. This motivates me to practise more. Check out her feed and let me know if you feel the same?

She also teaches classes in Washington and has her schedule on her website in case you’re in town. Other than teaching classes, she has various retreats and works with the awesome yoga clothing brand Alo.

Chin Twins

This account is run by a pair of twins, Cristen and Kimberly Chin, otherwise known as Chin Twins. How cool is that? Perhaps I am a little biased, being a Gemini and all 🙂 Anyhow, this aspect of the account is really cool. I mean, look at the post below. It’s just so cool having identical twins doing yoga together, giving it a supercool surreal mirror effect.

They are both certified RYT 200 Yoga instructors, mothers and working women, living 1000 miles apart. Yip, one lives in Alabama and one in New York. It is pretty amazing that they have found a way to still build their account that exudes togetherness as if they were living on the same street.

It’s a great Instagram account, with a fresh perspective. Both Cristen and Kimberly have had a love for dance since they were young. You see this in their cool dance-inspired versions of classic yoga poses. Very cool indeed!

Nude Yoga Girl

Thought I’d end off this post with something I little more risque. In my personal experience, when I practised my most, I felt my most confident. When I did my first 30-day yoga challenge, I would joke saying ‘I feel so good, I’d be happy to run down the road in my underwear’. Well, that is not how confident I usually feel, but that is what lots of yoga makes me feel like. It has the power to totally transform your body and your mind.

This account is inspiring in its liberation. She is a model, photographer and a yogi. On her website, you can buy prints of her in poses. I like this account as it has a powerful message, of loving ourselves as we are. The simplicity and confidence of each photograph is inspiring, celebrating the body as it is.
