Banana Breakfast Bowl with Strawberries and Nuts

This is one of my absolute favourite healthy breakfasts. It is just so incredibly simple, and yet so delicious. An easy banana breakfast like this is very rewarding, giving back so much more than the effort it takes to make it. Ready to make this easy morning breakfast? Let’s go!

One of my everyday versions of this breakfast is simply banana, sunflower seeds and coconut milk.

Bananas are a great fruit to add to your breakfasts, particularly in the morning before a busy day. Find out more about banana benefits and you’ll be adding more of these necessary fruits to your weekly eating.

Easy-Breakfast-Banana-Bowl

Above shows the basics of this power breakfast combination: banana, coconut milk and nuts or seeds. The balance of flavour is nothing short of beautiful! From this base, you can add all sorts of ingredients.

For this recipe post, I decided to make one of my extra special versions with a few more ingredients added. That’s the great thing about this recipe – it is so versatile and easy to add extra ingredients that you desire.

Today’s Banana Bowl is a 6 ingredient recipe. Strawberries are almost in season and I couldn’t resist adding a few. I am also nuts about nuts and have been eating an extra helping (or packet) of almonds lately. They are just so darn delicious, my body can’t get enough.

Today our bowl includes fresh banana, fresh strawberries, sunflower seeds, almonds, coconut milk and chia seeds. Are you ready to make this one of your next blissful breakfasts?

After making this easy breakfast many times, these are some of the lessons I’ve learnt:

Tip: Get lovely fresh yellow bananas, at a fresh fruit market if possible. Ripe but still firm, not bruised.

Tip: When you cut your bananas into slices, halve the round slices too. The smaller half moon pieces make the bowl easier to eat.

Tip: Buy good quality coconut milk. The more natural the better!

Tip: Refrigerate your coconut milk before using it. Chilled coconut milk will add to the freshness of your bowl.

Tip: Of course, you could choose an alternative to coconut milk (one of my dearest loves). If you are fine with eating dairy then plain Bulgarian or Greek yoghurt will work great. Alternatively, you could go for a good quality Goat’s Yoghurt, something I’ve grown fond of since living in Italy.
